Today, I’m featuring the song “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” performed by Great White in honor of their former lead singer, Jack Russell, who passed away on the 7th of this month. Great White is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1977. The song was released in 1989 and reached the #9 spot on the U.S. Billboard that same year. Great White’s version is a cover of the original song by Ian Hunter, an English singer, songwriter, and musician. I hope you enjoy the video, and have a great Rockin’ Thursday!
here i am having to be quite as a mouse but I’ll come back and have a listen, Edward.. 💓

I’m doing great, like Duke. 😀 The doctor said that everything is going well and that I should be back to 100% (well, 99.99% since I don’t have a gallbladder anymore) in a week or so. I’m looking forward to that because the list of things I have to do around the house is getting longer by the minute.

Oh, that’s sooo good to hear! I’m so happy to know that. I sooo know the feeling of deferred maintenance. Yikes.. Too funny, as soon as I said Duke was fine, I separated him from Hunter to feed him in the dining room and he peed everywhere and I had just taken him out.. No bark, nada. Oh well, I’ll chalk this up to an accident after 4 days of all going well.. lol

That’s crazy. First accident after four days—yes, count that one as an accident.

RIP, Jack. 🙏
We also lost Greg Kihn a few days prior to Jack. 🙁

Wow, I didn’t know that. I had to google that one. He had Alzheimer’s. Indeed, RIP to both.

Love both Mott the Hoople and Great White. The original raw, almost punk, the cover, 80s style, polished, choreographed. Another great choice my friend! 😊😊

Thank you very much. Both versions are excellent. Now that you mention it, you’re right—the original does have a punk flavor. I need to go back and listen to it again.

Check it out! I have to listen to it every now and then. And very rarely I will hear it on the radio.

Yeah, I gave up on radio a while ago, and satellite radio is way too expensive for two cars. I went with Apple Music because there are some songs I want to hear, and I don’t want to carry extra devices. I have Great White as one of my favorites, so I’m going to add the original so I can listen to it.

Sweet! I use alot of Internet Radio – IHeartRadio on my tablet. Of course you don’t get the great stereo sound but it mostly is a free add on to the Internet service.

I remember the Mott the Hoople version, but not this one.

Thank you, Liz. I listened to that version as well because I didn’t know that Ian Hunter wrote and sang that song. The original is very good.

It’s a good song. I was listening to the song the other day and thought that it would be a great fit for Rockin’ Thursday.
