Rockin’ Thursday LXIV

Well, I’m about to get my motor running and head out on the highway—not looking for adventure, just heading to a high school graduation in Texas—but I’m preparing for whatever comes my way. Because even though I wasn’t born to be wild, I’m capable of having fun once in a while.

I’m taking a week off to spend some time with my family, but not before I leave you with a good tune to wrap up the week.

“Born to Be Wild” is a song by Steppenwolf, a Canadian-American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1967. The song was released in 1968 and reached the number 2 spot on the U.S. Billboard chart that same year. It’s a great song and proof that the U.S. and Canada are capable of doing amazing things—especially when politicians aren’t involved.

I hope you enjoy the video, and have a wonderful, Rockin’ Thursday! See you in a week, my friends.

  1. Have a wonderful time Edward! Reunions are always eye openers aren’t they! Fun to reconnect! I wonder if I already knew that you went to school in Texas? I was born in Odessa, my parents went to Odessa high school way back when.

Enjoy! I will also be leaving tomorrow for a few weeks!

    1. I went to school in Puerto Rico, but my brother-in-law is working with Border Patrol in Texas, and his kids are graduating from high school. Family reunions are always fun. Enjoy your trip, my friend.

  2. When I finally cut and ran from my psycho first husband with just my baby and two small bags it was still back in the days of 8-tracks ~ and this was the only one in the truck. Arkansas to California, remembering wild again.

  3. As soon as I read the first couple of words in your post, I thought “Steppenwolf!” And my next thought was, “I wonder if Edward knows they were a Canadian band” … Of course you knew! And, and other “of course”, … this is on many of my walking playlists.. both because it’s from my era, and because it’s a great exercise tune that definitely gets your motor runnin’ 😊

  4. It was while I rode across Canada and when I took 101 down the west coast from Seattle to San Diageo. Then I crossed the border and rode through the desert on the Baja in Mexico
