Rockin’ Thursday XLVIII

For today’s Rockin’ Thursday, I’m featuring “Love Will Keep Us Alive” by the Eagles, an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971. I thought I’d continue the theme of love that I started yesterday with my poem. Also, with everything happening in this country and around the world, I feel that these words, “Love Will Keep Us Alive,” are more important now than ever. Love will endure and guide us through the darkness until we see the light again. The song, released in 1994, reached the number one spot on the US Adult Contemporary (Billboard) chart that same year. I hope you enjoy the video and have a wonderful Rockin’ Thursday!

  1. Such a wonderful tribute to such a great and beautiful song. “Love Will Keep Us Alive” is truly a timeless song. It’s comforting to remember how love can guide us through the toughest times.

It was also recorded by The Paul McCartney Band for the Run Devil Run album in 1999. A perfect reminder that love is the ultimate force.

          1. My musical tastes are all over the place, depending on my mood and the music’s purpose (dance, writing, cooking, etc.). To give you an idea, I have well over 100 playlists, categorized in a variety of ways. 🤯 Thank you for asking, what about you?

            1. Wow, that’s a lot of playlists. Cool! Me, there was a time when I had (well, I still do but don’t actually play those anymore) nine. I just opened my Apple Music, and here they are: Pop Spanish, Pop English, Rock Spanish, Rock English, Monster Ballads, Spanish Ballads, Heavy Metal, Salsa, and Merengue. Now, I just play all the songs at random, and I get a surprise once in a while.

                1. I also add new songs that I hear while streaming radio. It’s amazing how far we’ve come. It used to be that you’d hear a song on the radio and then needed to buy a whole album to hear that particular song. Now, you can hear any song, regardless of how famous the artist is or not. I think it’s much better now, and it gives the opportunity to listen to artists that we otherwise wouldn’t have heard if we were only dependent on radio stations.

    1. Thank you, Laura. I’m happy because the weather is going to be in the 30s this weekend. After a few days of -10 °F (-26 with wind chill), it’s finally getting a little warmer. I heard Florida got a bit of snow—hopefully not in your area.

      1. Not in my area but the photos I’ve seen are wild! 😆 I’m too far south but it is indeed the craziest thing. They said we may get a “frost” but I’m sure it’ll last like 3 hours if it even happens 🤣 It’s definitely been a different feel overall! I’m glad it’s getting a bit warmer for you 🙏 you have that beautiful garden to immerse yourself in a bit, thankfully.
