Autumn on the Rock Island

My friend Rebecca from Fake Flamenco is inviting fellow bloggers to join her in posting an autumn or floral square to recognize Cee and Becky B’s contributions to the WP Blogosphere. Of course, I received my friend’s call and told her last Thursday that I would be contributing to this wonderful project.

I was planning to go to the Rock Island Arsenal Commissary (also known as the military grocery store) that day, and I thought I could capture some photos on the Army base due to the beautiful landscape on the installation. It didn’t disappoint me. I took a few pictures, and I’m including some of the ones that I thought were the best.

The Rock Island Arsenal is located on Arsenal Island, originally known as Rock Island, on the Mississippi River between the cities of Davenport, Iowa, and Rock Island, Illinois. It is home to several United States Army units and was built in 1862.

Here is the Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois, in autumn.

  1. Beautiful photos, Edward! That’s why autumn is my favorite season! Nothing can surpass this palette of colors and grade of beauty. And the quote in the end, it’s gold over blue (as we say in Portugal), or it’s the cherry on top. Love it! Thanks for sharing all this beauty! Much appreciated! Light and blessings to you, my friend*
