Today, I’m bringing you The Pretenders, a British-American rock band formed in March 1978. The band’s biggest hit in the United States is “Back on the Chain Gang”, released in 1982 and reaching the #5 spot on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1983. The song was written by American-British musician Chrissie Hynde and was recorded after The Pretenders’ guitarist, James Honeyman-Scott, died of a drug overdose at the age of 25 on June 16, 1982. At the time of the recording, Chrissie Hynde was about three months pregnant with her first daughter1—a ray of hope amidst the heartbreak. Enjoy the video, and have a wonderful, Rockin’ Thursday!
Great song and loved hearing the background, Edward!💓

Great tune! I think “Brass In Pocket” is my favorite from them!

Yes, that is a great song. I was actually debating between that one, “Middle of the Road,” and “Back on the Chain Gang.” I decided on “Back on the Chain Gang” because of the video.

All good ones, so I can understand the difficulty choosing!

I have two of the Pretenders songs on one of my power walking playlists. “I Would Walk 500 miles”, of course, and “I’m on My Way”. This is another good one, Edward. Thanks for the share!

You’re welcome, Terry. I like the 500 miles; it’s definitely a good one for power walks.

Love Chrissie! A favorite of mine is her cover of Dylan’s I Shall Be Released. Done live at a trubute concert.

Is that the Bob Dylan’s 30th Anniversary Concert? I saw that one and it’s pretty awesome.

I’ll probably take some time to watch the entire concert. I’ve only seen a couple of songs.

All good here! Thank you for asking. In fact, I had hoped for a little more wind and rain to knock my WiFi out so I didn’t have to get work done lol 😆 didn’t happen! Oh well, more coffee it is! ☕️ ☕️

Well, that’s good to hear that everything is okay—not that you didn’t get a WiFi outage and have to work, of course. 😂 Coffee, yes! I’m actually drinking my second one of the day. So good! ☕️☕️

I’ve had my fill for the day, somewhere between 3-5 cups lol 😆 ahh yes, a shame about the WiFi, goes out when I don’t want it to it seems lol 🤣
