The Cranberries were an Irish rock band formed in Limerick, Ireland, in 1989. In 1994, they produced and released the song “Zombie” about the young victims of a bombing in Warrington, England, during the Troubles in Northern Ireland. Is it six years since we lost Dolores O’Riordan? Seems like yesterday that I cried at her death before her time. Influential protest song, mezzo-soprano, rocking Irishwoman.

I know. It was such a devastating loss and way too soon. She had so much to offer, and her songs were great.

The mental health stigma still dominates this world. It’s so important that people talk about their problems with trusted friends and professionals so they can get the help they need. It’s sad when we lose a beautiful person like her.

Yes, there is a lot of stigma. But there are so many more treatments available than there were fifty years ago. Sorry she felt like she ran out of options.

Drinking is an easy pitfall for anyone.

Oh, you are so right about that. I quit drinking when my son was born and stayed that way for like 8 years. Not even a drop. Now, I might drink the occasional beer or maybe a little rum once or twice a month. Alcohol is quite addictive, and you can easily fall into that trap quickly.

I quit drinking when I was 25. I don’t miss it, it’s really helped me stay on an even keel.
