Home Sweet Home

Finally made it back from a fantastic vacation, but I think I need another vacation to recover from this one. Maybe it was the 13-hour drive since our flights got delayed, and we didn’t want to miss the cruise. Anyways, we enjoyed our vacation. We spent New Year in New Orleans, and it was fantastic. On the 31st, we visited the World War II museum, probably one of the best that I have visited so far, and I took a few pictures of displays that made me think about how the war started and why we fought.

After reading General MacArthur’s quote, I wonder if we are ever going to get there. I hope to see it during my lifetime.

Well, a little sun and blue waters to lighten the mood. There is always hope.

  1. Great pictures. Two things have caught my eye and they’ll probably come back to me again and again this year; “then they came for me” and the generals wish that seems to elude us so much that my first thought was Palestine and Israel conflict, then I that only in heaven shall we see that dream come true.
Then they came for me obviously takes us to Nazi Germany, reminding us that we are our brother’s keeper. Therefore no man is an island.
    Thank you for sharing.

    1. Great observations. Revisiting history is important and should help us avoid repeating mistakes from the past. However, for some reason, we continue to make the same mistakes over and over again. I guess that is our sinful nature. Thank you for your comments.

      1. Helene was a college student, so she has a larger picture of the Nazi occupation than Anne Frank would have. The afterward to Berr’s book help me understand that she was able to help a secret movement to save Jewish children. She was a thoughtful person and a good writer.
