Today’s Rockin’ Thursday features Poison, an American glam metal band formed in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, in 1983. By the way, according to Wikipedia, “glam metal (also known as hair metal or pop metal) is a subgenre of heavy metal that features pop-influenced hooks, guitar riffs, upbeat rock anthems, and slow power ballads. It borrows heavily from the fashion and image of 1970s glam rock.” 1
I selected one of their best songs, “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” which was released in October 1988 and reached #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in December 1988.
