Rockin’ Thursday XXXIV

Today, it feels like a Fleetwood Mac kind of day. I’m bringing you “The Chain,” a song by the British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on their 1977 album Rumours. While reading about this song, I found this interesting bit of information: “‘The Chain’ was created from a combination of several previously rejected materials, including solo work by Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, and Christine McVie. The song was assembled, often manually by splicing tapes with a razor blade, at the Record Plant in Sausalito, California, with engineers Ken Caillat and Richard Dashut.”1 Enjoy the video, and have a wonderful, Rockin’ Thursday!

  1. Love a bit of Fleetwood Mac – although I am going to be a tad controversial and say the Peter Green era was my favourite.

That being said, it is a funny coincidence that I was also thinking about The Chain the other day. I bought a bass guitar in the hope of convincing a friend to take it up so that we can start a band. When it arrived, I tried to learn the famous bass riff and had a lot of fun with it.

Great choice! Thanks for sharing. 😊

  2. Thank you for the music/video share, Edward. It is a great song. I didn’t listen to Stevie or Fleetwood Mac when I was younger, but I’ve grown to appreciate her music the last few years. Listening to her song, Landslide, after my father died made me a fan. 🎶🙏🏻

  3. One of my favorite Fleetwood songs. Lindsey Buckingham really showcased his powerful and amazing voice here. It’s a shame that he was on the background of this group, he has such a powerful voice and deserved more spotlight in this group then he actually got.
