Subtle Dream

Today, I’m sharing the fourth poem from Pedro Rodríguez Miranda, my grandfather-in-law, titled “Sueño Sutil”.

Con dulces caricias, con un amor santo;

Subtle Dream

Oh, what a dream from that night,
I held you in my arms and eased my sorrows!

I dreamed of your kisses, your lips of fire,
Your teeth like pearls and your black eyes.

I dreamed of embracing you in an eternal bond,
With sweet caresses, with a sacred love;

But upon awakening from such a delightful dream,
Though I still suffered, my tears were fewer.

Oh, what a dream from that night,
I held you in my arms and eased my sorrows!

  1. You’re grandfather was quite prolific and so in love which is so heartwarming. See it runs in the family, Edward. I know there’s a poet in there waiting to be released.

    Dreams and sharing the heart are gifts for the soul.
    Love these lines.
